Is this HEIC to PNG converter free?
Yes. Convert and download for free, with no account, watermark, or paid download step.
Does this converter upload my photos?
No. Your photos are decoded and converted locally in your browser. They are not sent to a server. The website uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for site usage and performance; these are separate from your image files.
Will my photos keep their quality?
PNG saves the decoded pixels without another lossy compression step, at their original dimensions. It does not restore detail lost in the original HEIC. PNG files can be much larger. JPEG uses lossy compression for smaller files, and transparency becomes white.
What happens to metadata and Live Photos?
The output is a standard still image. Original EXIF, GPS location, camera metadata, HDR data, depth information, and animation are not copied. For multi-image HEIC files, only the first decoded image is exported. Keep your originals if you need that information.
Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?
Yes. Add up to 15 images, at most 50 MB each and 100 MB in total. Convert together, then download individual results or a ZIP of completed images. ZIP output is limited to 150 MB. Conversion is limited to 64 megapixels per image and depends on your browser’s available memory.
Why won’t my HEIC file convert?
Some newer HEIC variants are not supported by the browser decoder. A damaged file, a very large photo, or limited device memory can also prevent conversion. Try one photo at a time, a smaller copy, or export a PNG from Photos or Preview on your device.
